Growing up in Vietnam, Miss Tina was raised in a household filled with educators. Her grandparents, parents, aunt, and uncle were all teachers. It was through this upbringing that Tina decided to follow in their footsteps and become an educator herself. In pursuit of this career choice, she attended college at SJSU and graduated with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development. Tina feels she is never done learning and plans to eventually earn a multiple subject teaching credential along with a Masters Degree in Child Development. Miss Tina is instilled with a hard work ethic and a commitment to being the best teacher she can possibly be. We consider ourselves very lucky that she found her way to Learning Pathways.
Prior to coming to Learning Pathways, Miss Tina worked as a tutor at an after-school center for over 5 years. There, she had the pleasure of working among students of all ages (from 1st grade- 12th grade) with diverse backgrounds. Tina volunteered at local schools around East San Jose where she was able to learn so much from the teachers she worked with (one being her very own first grade teacher). She also did one-on-one tutoring for a nonprofit children literacy program called Reading Partner. There she worked alongside English Language Development students to help them develop proficiency in literacy (i.e.: phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, etc.).
In her spare time, Miss Tina enjoys arts and crafts as well as cooking/baking for her friends and family. She also loves to travel and go on food adventures with her friends. Trying new food with great company is something she always looks forward to.
